The company is a joint venture between ICICI Bank Limited, India’s second largest bank with and Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited, a Canada based diversified financial services company engaged in general insurance, reinsurance, insurance claims management and investment management.

In ten years of its business ICICI Lombard GIC Ltd. has become the largest private sector general insurance company in India. The company has 4,634 employees and 350 branches across India.It has been assigned a domestic rating of ‘iAAA’ by ICRA for highest claim paying ability and a fundamentally strong position. ICICI Lombard is also the first company to get ISO 9001:2000 certification in general insurance business in India.
